StudentsAre You A Slave To Technology?
Technology has brought a lot of convenience into our lives. No
need to wait 2 weeks for a letter. Use e-mail instead. No need to
carry change for the payphone when just about everyone has a cell
phone. Technology has definitely changed the kind of world we live
in. Most technology is great, the problem is the way that we use it.
Take this quiz to find out if you’ve become a slave to technology:

out. What kind are you most likely to send out?

right? b) E-mail invites. They are quick and cheap.
2. It is Saturday afternoon and you’re ready to get together with
the girls. Where are you most likely to meet up?
a) At the café we meet up at every weekend. We order lunch and
chat for hours.
b) Online, in a conference chat

year. To console her, you:

house for some cheering up. b) call her for a long chat on the
phone.

format do you use to display your photos? a) I use photo
albums. Mini albums with themes for special occasions. b) I use a
photo-blog. I can post all my photos in one place and everyone can
view them.

required to use 3 or more sources for your paper. Where are you most
likely to get your sources? a) A combination of the library
and the internet b) The net all the way. I can find all 3 sources
in a matter of minutes!
6. You are definitely someone who needs a to-do list to stay on
track. Where do you keep your to-do list? a) In a funky little
notebook b) In an electronic organizer
If you answered mostly A’s you are not a slave to technology,
although you do enjoy to use it. You still prefer doing some things
the old fashioned way and don’t rely on technology as a way of life.
If you answered mostly B’s technology is the central part of your
life. Almost everything you do involves technology in some way. In
fact, if you had to go one day without turning on your computer, you
might not make it!
Technology benefits us in many ways. Quick communication, probably
being the most popular. We lead busy lives and want the quickest,
easiest solution possible. But remember, sitting at home and
chatting to your friends instead of seeing them in person, isn’t
very much fun.
